Hello to my very dear Paid Subscribers! I hope you’re well, and for United States readers, that you’re looking forward to the holiday weekend!
We’re gearing up for an exciting milestone here: my daughter, Sadie, is graduating from high school, and while I’m looking forward to the celebrations, I’m also bracing for an onslaught of complicated emotions. A few weeks ago, Sadie warned me, “Mom, just wait. I’m going to be a complete mess after graduation. I will be so sad that high school is over.”
I get anxious when my kids are upset, and my first instinct is to urgently try to fix the problem, but in this case, I’m taking it as a good sign that Sadie is aware that this is an important transition, and that she’s unafraid to feel all her feelings…
