Some Happy Horoscopes!
(And two recipes) For May 2022
I am an avid horoscope reader, especially at the beginning of a new month. I feel sheepish admitting it, because I know many people consider this is a foolish waste of time, but I love scanning my sign’s report (I’m a Virgo), shamelessly skipping the planetary mumbo jumbo, looking for things like: “you will have an amazing stroke of luck” or “success will fall in your lap” or “all your dreams are going to come true” and fabulous things like that…
But I am often disappointed with the predictions for my sign, and regularly fantasize about taking matters into my own hands: simply writing a report which fulfills all my wishes and says that the next four weeks will be blissful.
So this month, for fun, I did just that - for every zodiac sign! Below you will find your May Happy Horoscope, which I hope brings you a smile.
For those of you who do not want to indulge in such baloney, here are two fantastic things I cooked this week and highly recommend: Alison Roman’s Overnight Foccacia, Tonight - I had never made foccacia before and this turned out beautifully; and Ali Slagle’s Slow-Roasted Chicken with Garlicky Green Beans and Sage. I really didn’t like green beans until I discovered this recipe: they are crunchy, schmaltzy, and delicious, and a dinner guest anointed them “amazing beans.”
