Oh how badly I needed to read this advice about spring! I've been desperately waiting for it to be something it's not. I love the advice to break out colors but not underdress. Much like your friend, I end up dressing for the season I want it to be rather than the season it is, and I just end up miserable. Thanks for this!
Okay, your but/and strategy is genius, and I'm absolutely borrowing it!
*Loved* seeing the Postscript link to Mickie Meinhardt's essay in The Cut...what an amazing read. (I just found out she's on Substack!) Way more compelling than their viral trad-wife essay currently making the rounds 😅
I struggle with spring, too - and it doesn't help that we just got a huge dumping of snow last weekend after a streak of very warm weather - but it's already melting and I tell myself that each day is moving towards warmer weather, even if it doesn't always feel that way. This post was a nice reminder of that (and that I'm not alone in struggling this time of year).
oh, I hear you! it makes me feel crazy: one perfect day makes me want to frolic around in fields of flowers, then the next it will be miserable, and I don't want to get out of bed. 😠 hence, the new approach of zero expectations!!!
I had the exact same thoughts about spring this year - leaning into the pattern of both seasons. I see the sun peaking out so I'm off to sit on my patio. Happy 🌱
Thanks for the flowchart shout-out! I too am finding Palm Royale very entertaining, without it being entirely “sensical” 😂
I'm really impressed with Kristen Wiig's acting - and it's certainly colorful, if not sensical! 🤣

Poor Spring, we place so many expectations on it, it's bound to disappoint us!
I need a new light show, Girls5Eva looks great and I love Busy Philips!
I hope you like it!
Girls 5 Eva is a gift to humanity.
it makes me SO happy! 💃
