meal planning, grocery shopping, and unpacking is all me please and thank you. (my husband would help if I asked) but i guess i like to manage it independently, for now at least!
I'm a big winter person. i appreciate nature just as much in the cold months. I like to ski so that helps. If you get snow where you live...snowshoeing? It's a relaxing outdoor winter activity...
It's funny - meal planning, grocery shopping and unpacking are 3 separate big tasks that must be coordinated so often end up with one person! Lately, I've been doing the meal-planning and making the grocery list and Jim's done the shopping and unpacking. Going to the store together is for "special occasions" now! 🤣 we do get some snow - but not as much as we used to - winter has become a bit more grey and rainy - I love showshoeing and would love to do it more!
I’m also on Bennifer divorce watch…I’ve got popcorn handy. (Am I a bad person?) I totally agree with you on the sugar-craving front, which I’ve learned from my partner—he stopped eating sweets a few years ago.
Don’t even get me started on the grocery shopping/meal planning topics…I could write an essay! 🫠
Haha - you just made me realize that changing hairstyles is the hallmark of seasons passing in movies. I just watched The Idea of You and noticed immediately that we know five years has passed when Anne Hathaway goes from bangs to no bangs. I wonder how often people change their hairstyles in real life!
this is a great question - I can tell you how often I've changed hairstyles in my life: twice! I've always had a "bob" and have gone from having bangs (or a "fringe" as it's called in Australia!) to no bangs. I have slightly changed my part in the last few years to be closer to the middle, under the influence of my teen daughter (and fashion consultant)...
We're a household where typically only one person goes out for groceries, but I agree that it can be a lot more fun to go together - though that's also when we end up deviating most from the list and grabbing things that just look fun (we're bad influences on one another).
I love what you said about lunch conversations vs. dinner ones, and I'm going to start really paying attention to the differences when I'm out!

you are right, they are huge tasks! I like how you and Jim are splitting it up.

"Bennifer" is a real-life soap opera! I actually think there might be an essay (or multiple essays!) on grocery shopping and how to do it happily...!
I'd read all of 'em. It's a whole thing!! 👀
embracing winter is about having the right outer wear —i say thus with some authority bc i grew
up in buffalo.
The right gear makes all the difference!

what about you?!
I love grocery shopping alone because I know where everything is and get through quickly, ha!
I've also heard people (mostly women) say they like grocery shopping alone because they get to actually "be alone!"

the first rule of grocery shopping: must stick to list at all times!
the lunch vs. dinner conversation observation doesn't always hold true - I'd love to know what you notice!
Completely agree about lunch conversations!
I don't know why I just noticed this recently when I think it's been true all along!
Natural cold plunging weekly in the winter has changed a bit part of my perspective on winter...being out in the nature shows the magic ✨
Getting outside and enjoying it seems like the ticket - I am so often rushing back inside after a few mins outside!
Lace! Looking for a copy now!
I started it last night - be warned: it's dated! The descriptions of clothes and accessories are amazing!! 😉😉
