I love this! And yea, let’s talk about feet issues! I could write a whole Substack (maybe I will) on attractive, yet supportive shoes. I think I have tried on just about every pair. I have thoughts!
Please let me know when you write that letter! I'm in particular need of evening shoes with some height that aren't casual and aren't heels. Some sort of flat wedge but fancy?
It’s a great list. I’m 47, and most of it resonates deeply. Still, I sometimes catch myself thinking, “Isn’t it a bit late for this?” And maybe it is—too late for a few things in life. But not for most. And I suppose that’s the spirit to hold on to.
I know exactly what you mean, Selda! I catch myself thinking that all the time! But I remind myself that there are really no rules, people have done many impressive things in midlife and beyond, and that everyone loves a late bloomer!
La Loop is the answer the my problems. I've lost so many pairs of glasses that I am not allowing myself to buy anything but drugstore glasses until I can figure out a system. Could this be it? Thank you!
I love these midlife rules! #1 is my fave...Things have always happened a bit later in life for me, so I've tried to pay attention when I saw others going through similar experiences. I had no idea Ina Garten wrote her first cookbook at 50! Totally agree that it's never too late!
Your thoughts mirror my own Amelia - my addition: ensure you are part of a social group or community, it benefits all of you, brings utter joy and light-hearted fun to your life, gives you connections in the best possible ways and these folks can be a balm when needed most!

I resonate with all of this! I really love this way of thinking and of course a good Nora antidote can cure anything!
Nora is always right! 😉

I buy them in bulk and have a different colour for every room! I leave my green kitchen glasses in the fruit bowl.
That is delightful! I've been buying all one color - and that's just not much fun!
And they're stylish! 😉💃

I need a regular reminder that it's never too late - for anything! ❤️
