I loved loved loved this part: I decided when I pitched the book that I wouldn't let it take over my life or overwhelm me. Anytime we would schedule meetings with the publishing team or the PR group, it would always be called ‘The Gentle Meeting’ or ‘The Gentle Update.’ So, there was always this reminder for us all to be calm and gentle, and by the time we’d get together, nobody was high-intensity. Everybody was relaxed just because of the way we named the meetings!
I'm my best self when I'm relaxed and moving at a measured pace plus I enjoy life so much more! 💥
I know what you mean. I think it's all about priorities. We do need to get the most important things done but we can also let go of a lot of other stuff that really doesn't matter/isn't urgent.

I think this is an idea we can use in other ways for other activities/meetings that would typically feel stressful (or boring!) 😉
Gentle us such a softening word. I feel more relaxed just reading this. 💕
I felt myself relax during my conversation with Courtney!
I love the New Rules of Rest!
Me too. Also: no rushing!
Favorite self, I like that!
Right?! Feels so much kinder than trying to always be your best!
LOVE concept of “favorite self” vs “best self”.
Me too! It's a helpful way to be nicer to ourselves!
There are some great suggestions for slowing down but not totally realistic because sometimes you do need to get shit done on a schedule.
