I'd wake up at 5:30 if there were cookies involved. This was such a wonderful interview. I too value the trips with friends and my husband.

I just love that Lindsey starts her day in such a warm, cozy way - with a treat instead of with something hard!

Loved this!

Lindsey you are such a delight! Breakfast goals 🍪🍪

Lindsey's self-care can be simple and joyful, and not just intense workouts (guilty as charged) and green smoothies (chocolate's more my jam)! 🍪

Chocolate always!

Can I just take a moment to reiterate how much I *adore* this series, Amelia? Truly: I'm so glad you started it! Love getting this peek into Lindsey's psyche (and morning routine, because like you, I'm obsessssssssed)

I could imagine you starting each day with a fancy pastry and a novel! 😍😍

This is so good! I just realized I needed permission to do my morning MY way without any morning routine arms race guilt. Thank you!!

Insanely impressed by the 2 cookie morning breakfast.

And Lindsey seems like a such a practical and good person who happens to be a money writer.

It's not the *healthiest* lol, but it is delicious!

it's certainly a fun and inspiring start to the day! Lindsey's a very smart cookie (pardon the pun!).

I couldn't agree with Lindsay more about finding regular people the most fascinating! Celebrities are too guarded (understandably-they are under a microscope) and get paid to sell an image. I need the real life stuff to keep me interested. It's why I have such a beautiful time here with my fav newsletters. You all are a million more times interesting than any famous celebrity/actor/musician.

Swooning over Lindsay's elegance as a bride. 😍

Thank you Lindsey is giving us permission to eat two cookies and watch a show in bed. Love this so very much!

Expand full comment

You don't need my permission! :) But I do highly recommend it!

it's so nice to have permission to be kind to ourselves and do exactly what we want!

Why not do something fun to start the day instead of immediately knocking items off your to-do list? I love this reframing of the morning routine! Some mornings I make a cup of coffee and just sit quietly with the dog while the rest of the house is still asleep. It’s the most restful part of my day.

being awake in a quiet house before anyone else is my idea of heaven!

Oh a refreshing morning routine--cookies and television. Thank you for this! Big Lindsey fan...I love a peek into people's lives whether it's spending, cooking, or just living a day-to-day existence.

I love the Morning Person substack (who doesn't?) but I quietly smiled at her 30 step morning and daily routine, but I understand she's a Type A and they have their elaborate ways. I have been waiting for one like mine: 1. Make coffee 2. Mindlessly scroll or watch Good Morning America while drinking said coffee. 3. Walk or not walk, eat, get dressed. I'm not meditating, journaling, or doing sun salutations, in between collagen-infused kale smoothies packed carefully curated protein.

The simplicity of cookies and television. :o)

Oh yes, it's so refreshing that it's purely feel good me time vs. aspirational/healthful! Lindsey's morning is truly self care!

Oh and for a working mother--when my kids were little, and my husband asked what I wanted for my birthday or Mother's Day--my answer was always "I want to be alone in my house." Take them and leave.

Always! I had never craved alone time in my own house until I had kids!
